We began as dedicated drinkers
of fine Chinese teas. As we drank the teas with our friends
we saw that they too shared our enthusiasm for this beverage.
We wondered how many more people had yet to discover the enjoyment
of premium tea. We knew that there were many people who would
love some good tea, and that began Generation Tea. At Generation
Tea we offer you premium Chinese teas. We utilize our resources,
experience and knowledge to provide you with quality tea at
competitive prices. We believe that tea is perfect just the
way it is. Our teas contain no additives or preservatives.
We specialize in teas from China.
Each region produces different varieties of tea, each with
its own distinct attributes. Our tea producers take pride
in the aesthetics of each tea and carefully hand process the
teas making each one look as special and unique as it tastes.
As you discover all the nuances of tastes in these teas, it
is easy to understand how Chinese teas are a world unto themselves.
Michael Sanft - President and Co-owner
Fourteen years ago, Michael's Taiji teacher took him to Chinatown
in New York City and introduced him to his first, real tea
store. He has been hooked ever since. In addition to his love
of Chinese tea, Michael also has a broad interest in, and
appreciation of Chinese healing arts. As a longtime practitioner
of Taijiquan and Qigong, and student of herbology, Michael
has experienced first hand the positive benefits derived from
these practices. A massage therapist by trade, Michael extends
his practice of natural health to include the tea healthstyle,
incorporating tea into his daily health routine. It is with
this awareness toward better health that Michael offers these
special teas to the public. He is hoping to make whole leaf
tea part of everyone's daily diet not only for the health
benefits, but also for the delicious tastes. He thinks that
tea will surely be the drink of a new generation.
Marci Sanft - Co-owner
A reformed coffee drinker, Marci now also partakes in the
tea healthstyle. Her daily tea consumption helps her keep
up with her (and Michael's) two children, her job as an Occupational
Therapist, and her moonlighting career as a tea packer. She
highly recommends the oolong teas.
